More Timid Fractal Steps

"The artist must create a spark before he can create a fire and before art is born, the artist must be ready to be consumed by the fire of his own creation". -Auguste Rodin

"I think most artists create out of despair. The very nature of creation is not performing a glory on the outside, it's a painful difficult search within". -Louise Nevelson

"He was one of those inexplicable gifts of nature, an artist who leaps over boundaries, changes our nervous systems, creates a new language, transmits new kinds of joy to our startled senses and spirits." -Jack Kroll

"It is the artist's business to create sunshine when the sun fails." -Romain Polland

"It's very difficult for me to dislike an artist. No matter what he's creating, the fact that he's expressing the joy of creation makes me feel like we're in a brotherhood of some kind...we're in it together." -Chick Corea

I don't know if I'm considered an artist, either through writing or now hestitatingly, through fractals. They are both expressions of who I am, how I think, what I see. And there's at some level a sense of pleasure and accomplishment to be able to put both "out there" in the raw for observation and critique by others. It's simultaneously humbling, and ego-stroking. Odd that we should need both, but at various times, we need everything, I guess. I have Janis Joplin's version of "Amazing Grace" playing as I write this....music, writing, art......the creative triumverate.

That said, here is a collection of my latest fractals, using both Apophysis and Tierazon. For your scrutiny and hopefully, pleasure!!

BONUS QUESTION FOR TODAY: Can you tell which ones were done with Apophysis?

(NOTE: most of them look much better if you click on them and view the larger, "3-D" version)

The PEACE link for today is a web page devoted to creative artists who support the peace movement in their lives and through their work.

I create because I can :) It is what I do to relax / unwind. No despair necessary.

Apo picks are 4, 11, 12, 15, 16 and 17 and 18 *ie, what hairyface said*. I am guessing that the rest were generated with Tierazon.

Both geniuses! 100% (I guess it's pretty obvious to someone who has worked with them as much as you...so far I've pretty much just been playing "randomly"...soon, I'm going to take a more 'studied' approach to it, and see where it takes me).

"The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and three hundred and sixty-two admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision." - Lynne Lavner*** I'm confused; curious; satisfied; realistically resigned to being a frustrated idealist; usually at peace with myself, but not always. Amazed at how little I know, and wondering how much I need to understand.
