Fractals are B-a-a-a-ack

The process of making art frees people from the pressures of their illness and offers them a means of expression for their underlying feelings." - Brad Sherman

Creativity is not the finding of a thing, but the making something out of it after it is found.” - James Russell Lowell

Technical skill is mastery of complexity, while creativity is mastery of simplicity.” - Erik Christopher Zeeman

Ok, so here are some fractals I attempted with what I understand is called the 'plastic script'. Don't forget to click on them to see the larger version --- they look so much better that way, I think.

PEACE.

You are working it well. The last two are my favorites. I have seen the spotlight, many times, in different forms, but never thought to use it. I like it.

Wow, that is some impressive stuff you have made there!!
I like the first one the best. Reminds me of chocolate ice cream that is melting.

I like the second one...the colors are beautiful.

i like the last one. pleasing to the eyes! :D

Wow, does this stroke my ego or what! There is at least one person liking each one of them. I'm such an outstanding artist, eh?!! NOT!

(...but it certainly is encouraging. Thanks).

I really like the colors and the flow of that first one, but they're all wonderful images! I just love the creativity that flows with these!

I keep thinking that at some point, with all us artist types here in this little blogsphere circle, we should really make a community effort blog to share our proud work!

Thanks for dropping by my blog.

The hexadecimal dump you asked about is the parameters for the fractal. What you do is you copy the text from the start of the < to the end > and then open Apo.

Click on the main window and hit [ctrl][v] and you will have pasted the flame into Apo and should be able to see what the image is. You can then "tweak" (ie: play with) the image and come up with variations.

The only downside to tweaking other people's params is that the work produced is not purely your own as it was based on someone elses params.

Hope this makes sense.

Kind regards

Mel: Thanks for the compliments, and I like your idea of a community blog. I don't have the foggiest how to go about it though (and I still haven't forgotten your offer to help me with a new look for my blog! I just haven't gotten to it yet.)

MarMar: What a powerful comment this is! (read the next blog of mine called "Loving Yourself" that I just wrote and was posting at exactly the same time you were posting this).

I'm not familiar with the American educational system at all, but here there would be several options. Some of the high schools offer adult upgrading classes in the evening. At least two of the community colleges in town also offer upgrade courses both fulltime day time and part time evenings. There are also private schools (called learning centres) that cater to anyone having learning problems, but they're usually way too expensive.

Also, there usually is not the need for you to take all the grades you missed. You can take what are called equivalency exams to see where you'd fit, and what you need to pick up---sort of a customized plan for adult learners.

What I'd do if I were you, and if there's a community college type place handy, is go in and talk with one of their counsellors. That's their job, and a lot of them are pretty good at it! I'm so tickled that you're going back too. You and Becky can be moral support for each other! Good luck with it, you gotta know I'll certainly be rooting for you.

And my dear precious friend, there is absolutely no reason to be embarrassed about who you are. You taught me that!

Now, I have one question that I absolutely must ask you ---- why do you always write all your comments in capitals??? I'm curious as hell!

Dzeni: I appreciate the explanation. Thank you. I'm not at the point yet to even know all of parameters there are that can be tweaked, or how each one affects the outcome. I'm still on a very steep learning curve, and haven't come across a tutorial that makes sense to me yet (they all still assume too much knowledge from my point of view, so I don't even know where to start usually!). I'm still loking, and experimenting in the meantime. It'll come! It'll come.

Creating a community blog isn't too hard at all really. I'll have to look into it, persue the possibility of those who might be interested in participating and such... I think it would be fun :)

Any time you're ready to do the blog overhaul, you just give me a shout! If you can email Mackey, she can get my email addy to you, or just go to my business site and email me thru there (tho it might take a few days to get it... I don't get a ton of email that way :) LOL

AAwww Thank You!!!

Now the first fractal "layers" is my favorite, because it looks like warm gooyey chocolate! MMMM!! Im glad to see you doing these up again!!
