Expressing gratitude for the good things that come our way requires concentration and imagination. How many people have gone out of their way to be helpful to you and are perhaps still doing so.? How many problems have you faced where there is no obvious answer, but an answer came? How many times have you felt that you receive more from life than you really deserve? Such questions remind us of the good we have received and help us to cultivate an attitude of gratitude.

In honour of your Thanksgiving this past weekend, I offer a toast. Today's word is gratitude.



....and just while we're on the business of gratitude, it was with a sad tear slowly working its way out the corner of my eye that I noticed and realized I was left totally, absolutely, without doubt, not even as "hang-on" piece of baggage, left out of the hippo express. I'm just sayin', if it's making a stop in Edmonton anyway....yeah.....I'm just sayin'!! Which out-of-joint nose? What are you talking about? I don't see it....maybe if you held up a mirror or something bright and shiny ('cept I usually can't play with those)

Howcum sometimes when I go to look at the comments of one of my blogs, I just get a list of who left the comment, but not the comment itself (and Mel, if this means more work for you, the question has been answered.)




The snow thing was just to let you all know we've got tons over the past few days (my bet is on Mackey having photos up pretty soon!)....so much so, that I've hired a guy to clean my walks and drive. So, this hopefully is not a stupid question (I really hope!)...Do you ever get any quantity of snow down there at all?




How fickle an audience can be, eh? I've been averaging in the 18-20 range for months now (with occasional surges both up and down).

Yesterday.......TWO!!!! Can you all simultaneously say TWO with contempt in your voice? On second thought I guess you can't....you can't even organize a North American hippo safari with any sense of inclusivity (ah, screw you...look it up!)





P.S. On a potentially more serious vein now, folks, I'm more and more showing the signs of the manic portion of my disease. Each time that this has happened in the past, I've ended up in the hospital for about a week. My strong hope is that I keep recognizing the signs in time to counterbalance them. One problem is that I don't know what all the signs are, and the second is that I don't know what to do about it!

Of course, there are tears as I'm writing this, but if I could just impose a request on you, a favour from you and ask you to give that little extra bit of your thoughts, just anything at all that's left over, I ensure you that it will be enveloped with love in return. It already has been.

If you point out to me when the stuff I write here....(I'm talking off-the-wall bizarre)or what I type here doesn't make total sense (i.e. incomplete thought or un-related thoughts) or I'm talking about totally bizarre topics (usu. focussed on how I have a plan if I can just get the right people to listen, to save the world, to just asking for a little extra love on the "down" days, well,that would be really nicey-nice appreciated.

....and this time, I have to cope with this significant balance problem I'm having, and you've got one screwed up (but one slightly-scared)puppy.

(Not to mention that I find out what condition my condition's in......oh,no, wrong song, sorry....to find out what condition my thyroid is in. Recent tests showed there's something there..just dont know what. Funny in that kind of thing, though. It's about a quadrillion to one that it'll be malignant instead of benign...but for some reason we always seem to focus on the malignant case. I wonder why that is?

This, too, shall pass.
