Airport Security: Big, Boogie Man Alert Level

It seems that fears are all based on these things: illusion and future thinking, with a side order of 'What if.' 'What if that truck turns suddenly into our lane' 'What if I'm all alone at age 80?' What if? What if? What if?" - anon

I believe one of the hardest things you can do is conquer your fears, but if you have a goal, then it's your job to open up and let it be real no matter how scary it seems.” - anon

Never fear shadows. They simply mean there is a light shining somewhere nearby.” - anon

[That anon person was quite the wise dude or dudette, methinks!]

I've quit watching the news.

Personally, I'm getting really, really tired of a handful of so-called terrorists changing the world I used to live in the way they have. Perhaps we're just not fighting back in an appropriate way. The current approach doesn't seem to be getting us anywhere except further into the fear-hole we've let surround us, and mortgaging our kids future's for several generations to come.

Inevitably, if we keep on this path, this is what the new airport security will look like all too soon. Are you ready?

PEACE.

This security smack down in the airports has many of my photography friends worried. The last thing I heard was that carry on luggage was no longer permitted and there are some who have thousands of dollars worth of camera gear. Like me on my trip last year, they don't want to check that stuff. But now they are restricted from it.

I understand why things are the way they are. It's for the saftey of everyone, but it's hard to deal with these things in the first place, regarless of why.

Um, and man, that photo is just funny! God, I'd never fly again if we get that bad! LOL

Carry on luggage is still permitted -- you're just not allowed any liquids/gels. And there are even exceptions to that restriction -- baby formula, medicines, etc. They've already relaxed the restrictions a bit -- at first, they weren't even allowing SOLID lipsticks or lip balms. And THAT actually worried me, because lip balm is the ONE thing I must have at all times. (I'm a bit of a lip balm junkie. :)) Fortunately, lip balm is okay now...

But the way I see it, the carry on restrictions are really pretty minor inconveniences in the grand scheme of things. I love to travel so much that I'm not going to be deterred by something like a bottled water ban. Things change, life moves on, sometimes we have to adjust a little bit. Perhaps the rules will change again one day, for better or worse, but I'm not going to succumb to fear over this.

That picture is funny, though -- I wonder why all those naked people are heading to Disneyland?? :)

I have always hated flying and the more I watch the news, the more I am convinced I never want to again. Between worrying about mechanics missing something during their checks, SARS, terrorists, acts of God, and now snakes on a plane, my happy ass is gonna just stay at home.

LMAO! @ the pic that is! That's the best!!

No flying for me ever - EVER - I did it a few times when I was a kid - highly panic inducing!

I'm a nudist at heart, so as for airport nudity, I say "Bring it on." (Or "take it off," depending on your point of view).

whoooo haaaa, that would give new meaning to the term mile high club- orgy at 3500 feet, who's cumming.....

I know, I couldn't help it......
