The Words For Today are APPRECIATION, ATONEMENT

APPRECIATION:

A person who never gives any thought about expressing appreciation to others has become self-centred. However, there are many of us who would like to express appreciation, but are reluctant to do so, thinking it might be misunderstood. Very few people like to flatter or be flattered, but we all like appreciation. The only way to overcome our reluctance is to consciously and deliberately practice it every day. Observing how a little appreciation lights up a person's life quickly develops the urge to express it more often.

Allow me to pour out my thanks, gratitude, tears, appreciation, and anything else that remotely fits that list. And please accept every ounce of it as it is intended; not flattery, but nothing short of deep and abiding appreciation for all the supportive comments you have left over the past few days. Of course, this also includes the few personal notes I got also. I won't address them individually, as they are far too diverse and somtimes personal, but be assured that collectively they have overwhelmend me.

I've done bits and farts before, but that is the first time that I've told that complete story to myself or anyone else. To say that I'm not an emotional wreck right now would be an understatement [sorry, Shane, for yesterday}.

It has occured to me that you collectively, again, have become my "Lady". I guess you tend to find her where you look for her.

The Word For Today is Atonement:

We can easily overlook an important factor in our life if we feel that atonement should be thought of exclusively in terms of theology. We all have a need for atonement. Even the slightest act that violates our conscience may cause guilt feelings that cannot be ignored. Far too many people carry a burden of irrational guilt that is all out of proportion to any wrong that was committed. Forgive yourself! Let go of the past. Make what amends you can and do the best you can in the present. This is atonement too.

PEACE.

EV, ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT I LOVE YOU DEERLY AND YOU ARE AN AMAZING MAN! WHEN I SAY I LOVE YOU I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I REALLY DO, I DON`T SAY IT TO ANYONE TO WHOM I DON`T MEAN IT, YES I DO LOVE ALOT OF PEOPLE BUT THAT DOES NOT LESSON THE VALUE OF MY LOVE! PEACE TO YOU MY FRIEND.

You've got such a way with words. I was okay reading this until I read, "forgive yourself". It's so easy to forgive others, but self-forgiveness, I can't begin to explain how difficult that is.

I want you to know I'm exceptionally appreciative for you.

"The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and three hundred and sixty-two admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision." - Lynne Lavner*** I'm confused; curious; satisfied; realistically resigned to being a frustrated idealist; usually at peace with myself, but not always. Amazed at how little I know, and wondering how much I need to understand.
