Leaning And Learning

I think I might have posted this one some time ago, but I like it so much, I thought I'd give you a double-dose!

After awhile, you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning.

And you learn to understand that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises.

And you begin to accept your defeats with your head held high and your eyes wide open.

And after awhile, you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.

So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure, That you really are strong
And you really do have worth.

And you learn
and learn
....and you learn.

With every goodbye you learn.

PEACE.

I love that. No matter how many times I have read it, it feels good, grounds me somehow.

I like this, especially this part: "So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers."

"The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and three hundred and sixty-two admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision." - Lynne Lavner*** I'm confused; curious; satisfied; realistically resigned to being a frustrated idealist; usually at peace with myself, but not always. Amazed at how little I know, and wondering how much I need to understand.
