"The repose of sleep refreshes only the body. It rarely sets the soul at rest. The repose of the night does not belong to us. It is not the possession of our being. Sleep opens within us an inn for phantoms. In the morning we must sweep out the shadows." - Gaston Bouhelard
“It is refreshing to be able to express my views without having to toe a party line. It has got me into trouble on the odd occasion, but I am not going to stop saying what I think.” - Pauline Hanson
“I find it refreshing to unplug from it for a while. You kind of forget how deeply you get embedded in it.” - Will Wright
First off------ Happy Valentine's Day Everyone. Make it Special!
Well, I certainly got a little off track with that last blog, didn't I? It's just that, every now and then, it hits me...and hits me hard. I allowed my emotions to spill out onto the page a bit, which I now regret.
However, that being said, I truly thank those of you who left supportive comments. Sometimes they help put a bit of perspective on the whole thing. So, thanks again.
Okay, so now we'll go back to the regular broadcast!
This is another of my favorite writings (I've got hundreds of these!). This one, some of you may be familiar with already. I really like it.
The Little Prince
-by Antoine de Saint Exupery
The fox gazed at the little prince for a long time.
"Please----tame me!" he said.
"I want to very much," the little prince replied, "but I have not much time. I have friends to discover, and a great many things to understand."
"One only understands the things that one tames," said the fox. Men have no more time to understand anything. They buy things already made in shops. But there is no shop anywhere where you can buy friendship, and so men have no friends anymore. If you want a friend, tame me."
"What must I do to tame you?" asked the little prince.
"You must be very patient," replied the fox. "First, you will sit down at a little ditance from me ---like that---in the grass. I shall look at you out of the corner of my eye, and you will say nothing. Words are the source of misunderstandings. But you will sit a little closer to me every day."
PEACE.
I think pouring out our thoughts on our blog is cleansing like crying is. Don't apologize for being honest.
